Where tot place regulator rectifier on cb550
« on: August 10, 2020, 11:06:08 AM »
Hi there! I have treated myself tot a new rectifier. I've installed it (see picture) but im not sure of this is a good spot;
with the sidecover on it sits pretty snuck in there. I guess the thing needs to cool (why else the vins) but im not sure where else i can place it.

Any ideas?

They are designed to mount where the old units were and they should not get super hot so it should be ok. Does depend on design of regulator though, you would have to ask the makers does it vary the field power or shunt stator power

That’s where I put it and 1,000 miles it’s fine.
