KZ1000

Did a carb sync on a friend’s KZ1000 today. He bought it new, but it was parked for many years. Took it for a short ride. That thing really whistles down the road! Wow.

Thats a beauty.  I have a very long term project kz1000 coming to fruition currently.  Just got the last thing needed before riding in the mail minutes ago...rear wheel bearings.  It may be a while yet before mine is as pretty as that though.  But mine is MTC 1080 pistons Andrews 2x cams, ported cylinder head and vm29 smoothies.  I already know its got enough grunt to blow up the rear wheel bearings!
If it works good, it looks good...

When we moved to Georgia in 2001 I made a trip to the dump to recycle our moving boxes.  I had some bits and pieces of conduit so I stopped at the metal recycling bin.  I could look down into it and there was a complete first year KZ900 laying on top of the other junk.  The dump won't let you remove anything and it broke my heart to leave it.

Man, that is sad. That bike would be haunting me every day.
