New tire section at Dennis Kirk is online!
« on: February 16, 2007, 09:20:31 AM »
Hi everyone,
Some of you may remember that a while back (August '06) I posted asking for what people wanted when buying tires online. I compiled a large list of great input from ST.Ners and a couple other websites, and the three of us web guys at Dennis Kirk got to work. We worked really hard to improve what we had, and I think we were pretty successful. It was launched late last night/ early this morning, and is now live!

So, check out the new tire section of the DK website, and let me know what you think!
http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/tpl/cmn/subcat.jsp?store=Main&catId=404
Then click on "Shop for Tires".

This is kind of a first wave; there will be more improvements to come down the road, but initially we're going to fix little problems that creep up here and there before there are any other major additions.

FYI, I can't do anything about prices, beat it by a buck, and all that type of stuff, no matter how much I'd like to. Smile

Thanks for everyone's input!
Jeff

Looks very good. I like the multiple search criteria. Pretty snappy response also, even over my dial-up connection.

Yeah... things have been crazy lately. Between working on this new tire section of the site, plus spending time with my wife and baby daughter, and finishing my basement, I haven't had much time to do other stuff. I hardly have time to even look at my CB.

That was me last summer. Still trying to tell myself it was worth the lost riding time. ;D

P.S. It was really, turned out nice.

I'm upset >:(, you forgot the 550 as well as the 400.

Looks good every where else though. ;D

I know we have the 550 in our mmy list, and I'd assume we have the 400 as well. I'm just guessing that we don't have any make/model specific tires for our old relics.

But if you needed something that wasn't a tire, like a throttle cable, etc., you can use our mmy feature elsewhere.

Jeff, do you know if there is a wheel width - to tire conversion chart. Example: what tire will fit on a 4 x 17 inch rear wheel ? I am only concerned with the proper width and maintaining the correct profile. Thanks!

Bob, Dial up, we gotta talk Bro. This is just not done in the 21st Century. Did you carry a Musket when you were in Country?  ::)

A lot of people still have dial-up, my mother 10 min drive upriver is dial-up and can't get high-speed except for satellite transceiver. $$  It's always good to make your site for dial-up, makes the high-speed user really happy with the responce time.

Opps, dinners late.  Gotta Go...
