WANTED - PD46C carbies
« on: August 24, 2020, 05:33:38 PM »
Does anyone have a set of old PD46C carbs lying around for a 550 77-78 model?  I also have a freshly rebuilt set of 069A 550F carbs if anyone wants a swap etc.

Located Brisbane, but happy to post etc.

Cheers!

Hey mate, I don’t but I may know of a set. I’ll call the guy and get back to you. I’m in Gold Coast.

I have a K4 build but it’s running 069A’s, pods, and 4-1 exhaust.

I rummage through a guy’s bone yard but he’s a bear to buy stuff from, always thinks he’s “going to need that” so no promises.

ahh okay, yeah cool. If no PD's, maybe even some intake manifolds for the 069A's.  I currently run them, but don't have sync ports, so if I can get away with those, I'll be cheering.  I'm running stock airbox with 4 into 1, all inlet and intake rubbers, just had to slide the airbox forward to allow for the 69A's. Tuning is proving to be a pain though, running super rich.

I figure if I can get back to stock carbies everything will gell a bit better

What's the condition of the 69A's? Would be interested in a swap if they're also in good condition.

I've got some PD46A's on my 78 550K3 that's running pods and soon to be a pretty open exhaust. I put the 4into1 rebuild kit through it replacing the gaskets, rubbers etc. Also have various slow jet and main jet sizes including the stock sizes for the 46C and A as I played with getting the jetting right. I should have receipts for it all.

I've got an F tank on the bike and the choke is kinda in the way of the petcock and with the more open exhaust on the way 69A might be better for me.

Yeah they're in good nick. I've just fully rebuilt them including separating and vapour blasting and full rebuild kit for each one. I also have the jetting needles etc that were in it. The only hiccup was one of the coupling screws on the top rail was broken. Doesn't affect functionality, but is annoying if you want to remove that rail (will probably need to just cut the coupling off and replace it). I'm running std airbox etc, but 4 into 1 and also have a full rebuild kit for the PD46's, so that'd work for me if you are interested.
