"Ghost Roaster" (Rider)
« on: February 16, 2007, 01:05:21 PM »
Best part of the movie was the sound of Sam Elliiot's voice
which is the case with most of the movies Sam has been in.
Peter Fonda's portrayal of Mephistopheles doesn't stack up with his Olivier-like
Captain America from a few years back.

I kept looking for the "Wall Of Death", of course.

Not surprised - Nicholas Cage has been in some of the worst movies ever made. How does he still get acting jobs? My almost-six-year old wants to go see it though - think it's too scary for a kid?

Wellll- he's been in some good ones, though, too.

Haven't seen the movie, but the Jackson Hewitt commercial is pretty funny

I'd say definitely too scary for six years old--some pretty horrendous face morphing into skull scenes etc.

Another one bites the dust........... ::)

You have saved me some money on the going to see it. If I asked about the Chicago bike show you could have saved me enough to buy a huge pile of parts. That damn trip was over $100! Just wasted money. ;D

I guess it is a matter of most motorcycle movies suck. Worlds Fastest Indian was an exception, a rare one.

I will wait and rent Wild Hogs, I know this will be funny. And it will show the Harley bufoonery ;) in its true colors........

Nah the movie really sucked. I love cheesy movies, and it wasn't even cheesy in a good way.... The bike was wicked, that's about it. Thank god I only payed 3.25 to see it.

Geez, you guys are a tough crowd! I loved it, you gotta remember that "Ghost Rider" is a comic book character, a supernatural "Super Hero", so in that context, it's a great yarn, with some brilliant stunts and special effects, and a great soundtrack.

It's also made in Oz, (but seriously, that didn't color my perception one way or another) mostly around Sydney and Melbourne, and I loved the graveyard scenes, I think it was shot in the same cemetry that scenes from the worlds greatest ever biker movie, "Stone" was shot back in the early 1970's, so when Sam Elliot was saying his lines, I was waiting for Vince Gill to jump out, screaming "SATAN!", ha ha! (if you haven't seen Stone, try to find a copy, it's somewhat dated, but still pisses all over that poofter flick, "Easy Rider", ha ha!) Cheers, "Hollywood" Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

crap throw on top of it --->

It has been a few years now since I don't go to the movies and I don't miss it. Most of the new films are either for teenagers or you know how it ends just by seeing the trailer. Well, no wonder the movie industry target the youngsters: they are the ones with the money and time to spend on it. Films are not culture anymore, they are just entertaining. A product to entertain people for a couple of hours. I have other things that give me more fun. In fact, I think that the real business of the theaters is selling popcorn and soda; they let you see a film while you eat your popcorn for a fee...

Nicholas Cage is the most inexpresive actor nowadays in my opinion. Having an uncle named Francis definitely helps.

Even the best actors around as Jeremy Irons, Peter O'Toole, Sean Connery, had gave up and made blockbusters. It's hard to make a living out of cultural movies; the money is in the big Hollywood productions.

Terry,

I doubt you'd be talking that way if you actually saw "Easy Rider" in the summer of '69.

Yeah, you're probably right mate, I didn't see it until 1972, so obviously the world had moved on by then? I still don't understand though, why anyone could presume that we'd ever feel any sympathy for a pair of drug dealers plying their trade across America, regardless of their mode of transport? Ah, it's probably just me...................   ??? ;D

Hey Hey, watch what you're saying about drug dealers. At least you didn't talk about their Harleys  ;D ;)

The reason our critics didn't like this movie obviously has something to do with the fact that one famous "KOOLER KING" didn't make a cameo appearance.

The only good part about that movie was the preview for "300" before the movie started  ;D

Now THAT looks like an awesome movie!

Ha ha, nah mate, not having a go at pharmacists, just those dirtbags who turn good kids into zombies, (no, not the republicans...........) and you know that I love Harleys too, but while I've got your attention, I need a big bag of diet pills, all this hot weather has increased my fluid intake, and you know how much I hate drinking water (cos fishes fark in it.............) so it appears that my waistline is slowly expanding back into it's original "reverse hourglass" shape, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D
