Nope! It’s the bracket Honda used on the K7 and K8. There are tabs on the ends where you screw on the chrome plate with the “Honda” logo.

Correct. That is the fork badge bracket for the K7/K8.  8)

Ok, that's what I was initially thinking, Had a 650 Special that had a Yamaha logo in that exact spot. Didn't wanna just go pulling things off without knowing for sure. What's interesting is my title claims it's a 74, but a K7 would be later then that correct?

They do get moved around...... I just fitted one to a ‘75 CB750F, and Yamiya makes a knock off that fits all the K’s.

That's an anti-vibration brace Jerrod.  I have one on my '77 550 K.  It does help to reduce the amount of vibration and chatter in the forks when you brake-hard with front caliper.  It also helps to smooth-out the road vibration through the forks when you are traveling at higher speeds and on straight roads.  It does need to be attached above the lower fork tubes though.  Functions kinda like an extra support to the stock triple tree braces.
Cheers

I put one on a 400F, it came off a 650 and looked perfect. Helped cover the ugly part of the brackets.

Thanks Ichi, appreciate the knowledge brother. And yeah, that's what I had concluded, or maybe had the forks swapped at some point in the last 50 years. I've had this bike down to bare frame twice, and it's an absolute Hodge podge of CB-750's. Tank and Plastics from a 78. Also has the Pumper carbs, which I was told was also 78. Aftermarket bars, and I installed a Hondamatic camshaft in it myself lol. This old bike has had a life.

It very well have been used on earlier models, I just don't have enough first hand knowledge of earlier models to say for sure.  8)
