how hard is it to chop as many bits off a bike and paint it all black.
I like to see bike that have been attacked by PO’s and put back to the way they came out of the factory.

........... café’s lovers who seem to admire some black paint and grinder work.

??? ??? ??? Only thing BLACK on my CAFE that I painted BLACK is the exhaust.....and the only thing I Dremeled off was what was left of the seat hinges. I probally could have got a good grip on them with my fingers and twisted them off they were rusted so bad. In my opinion........I saved this classic bike from the Gomer PO that had let it sit outside in his yard for over a year. which brings up WJL75s post.......

A cafe on the street is better than a stock bike in a junkyard.

If my bike would have been close to being brought back to stock without alot of work, I would have probally restored it. But it was so far gone I figured Cafe was the way to go. I like stock bikes too but I built it to fit my budget. When I bought it I already had a bike....my 74 H1 500 Kaw Triple. It was a long way from being able to ride......the CB was closer. At least I didnt make a Godawful looking chopper out of it like the PO of my Kaw did.......... ::)

Look at this piece of work  ::)
Before.......when I rescued it

Where it is now......
and no Im not Cafeing it.......those bars are on my 750. The Kaw is going back stock.

To each his own I guess  ::) Makes no difference to me if I win or not. I like Keiths bike and I like mine........wouldnt hesitate a second to get on either one and go for a cruise. Both will turn heads. I know mine does  ;D If the green doesnt get them the bark of the Kerker will   ;)

My preference in SOHC’s is a stock machine, so many times a so called café’ butchered machine has won the award…$hit how hard is it to chop as many bits off a bike and paint it all black.
I like to see bike that have been attacked by PO’s and put back to the way they came out of the factory.
Stock bikes and Café’s in a vote suck! It should be two separate votes in separate categories and keep the people who leg hump a particular style in that vote particularly the café’s lovers who seem to admire some black paint and grinder work and far out number the not into this new fad of cafe SOHC's, the site has two groups. IMHO  ;D

Well, we're up to a whomping 50 whole votes. Hello! are some of us asleep? Today is the 24th and there are only 4 more days to VOTE. It's not like you have to get out, go down to the local Voting place and stand in line! What's the deal here. 50 out of over 3000, is not a good ratio. This is really pathetic. Okay, I'm through,...........for now.

Thanks for the compliment I knew I wasn’t the only person who thought this way, I’m glad you agree about the separate categories about black cafe bikes and stock bikes.

Whoa! :o We're up to a whole 63 votes! :o ::) That is better but, I wonder if all of us remember that Wednesday is the last day of the month? ??? Sure hope things pick up before the end of that day. I just thought that there was more interest in the BOTM than that. Come on folks, let's show our support here. If YOU were up for the running, I believe that you'd be wanting the same thing, right? ??? ;)

Last day to vote!

Yeah, what he said!!  Come on folks, what are you waiting for, Christmas? ??? 65 of us have done our part, what about the rest of you? ???  Being to see just how many are participating, really shows just how interested some aren't. Too bad, Even if you don't care for Cafes or the 350Fs, ya ought to vote on which one you like better of the 2. I vote each and every time because the folks have tried their best to create or restore a bike to their liking and each bike is a credit to the person who did the work. Well, this one is almost over.

Hey Biffta
Mine was a £200 shed find and cost me £1200 to make into a MULTIPLE show winner. Anyone can throw cash at a bike and buy NOS bits to make it back to 'as new' provided they have the cash in the first place. The rest of us have to be ingenious and inventive. Don't get me wrong - I love to see spot-on standard bikes , but to dismiss my work and that of countless other cafe fans is, at the very least, disappointing.
You're probably the sort who tell me at shows that I have the wrong mudguards on...
I'm going to go , now. I feel a rant coming on.

Whoa!! 69 votes!! Such an impressive turnout NOT!!!

For all I know, the turnout has been this bad before but not indicated, so it wasn't really known. I guess sometimes, it's better not to know.

Bill, my discussion is more about the choice of bikes in the vote, a stock 350 in a vote with a café 750 those bikes are not even in the same ball park IMHO, the point I have and was voicing is it’s a joke having two different animals in a vote and for me that’s how it looks. Now you take care and I’ll catch you later.

Cheers biffta

They are still both SOHC4's, right?  And since that's what we're supposedly all here for, I see no need to break things up into smaller groups, IMHO.

Let me throw alittle race gas on the fire here..

The BOTM was designed to celebrate the "best of the best" so to speak of members bikes on this board (correct?). Funny how the ranking under our user names was taken away but the BOTM was created  :-\.

If people don't feel that any bike in particular is "worth" a nomination for that month, none get nominated. I couldn't think of a bike to nominate for this month, so I didn't. And thus if people don't like any of the bikes that ARE nominated, they most likely won't vote. You cant and shouldn't force someone to vote for a bike they (for whatever reason) don't want to vote for.

I just think people coming down on other members of this board because the votes were low this
past month isn't right. Not right at all..

(My 2cents)..
