Handle bar plugs
« on: September 12, 2020, 11:52:40 AM »
I'd like to mount bar end mirrors on my 1977 CB750K.  Bars are plugged with what I presume are weights and they block the mounting of many types of bar end mirrors.  Can the be removed , or hammered further in to the bar?  I don't want to start messing around until I know what I'm facing.  TIA

They're probably welded in place, you might want to go with another set of bars if you don't have your switch wiring run internally.

This came up as the second search result for the search term: remove bar weights

Drill the bar end weights and tap them for the thread needed and then just bolt them down to the weights. Just have to drill and tap them deep enough for the screw.
