Topic: 72 CB750 HM341 exhaust baffles/diffusers fit question

Just bought a 72 750 that the previous owner had removed the oem exhaust baffles and diffusers from.  I want to put new oem ones in to maintain originality.

I found a set of nos baffles/diffusers but they are for the earlier HM340 pipes.  Honda part number is 18311-300-320. 

Does anyone know if these will fit in HM341 pipes with no modifications?  I figure if they fit they may be a little louder than the correct HM341 parts but that is ok.

 I've never tried but as for Honda pipes I have never tried to fit the longer real baffle of an earlier (70-71) HM300 pipe into the end of the 72-76 HM341 that uses just the diffuser cap with no real baffle. My guess would be they do not interchange due to the different interior construction of the two pipes.  Not sure about that HM340 number ??

No they will not fit.   Ends/internally different.   On a good note, the ones for the HM341 pipes are much cheaper.

Yamiya no number pipes work very well, a little pricey but worth it.

like eric said and as far as i know the 341s have built in baffles.  what may have been taken out is just the diffusers.  i rode for a few years without the diffusers.  bought some last year popped them on and the sound of the bike is much better.  quieter but better.
