New Contest
« on: February 17, 2007, 09:40:46 AM »
Ok, whomever can guess the correct date that all, I mean all the snow is gone
from my back yard (ie, so I can take my bikes out of the garage without slipping on ice/snow)
Have at it.
Prize: uhmmmmm, how about a cb750 gastank?

Just shoveled a path to the shop this morning. Measured 17 inches and it is still coming. Say April 20th

not fair

You mean the snow you presently have? Or, the snow you have now plus the snow you're going to get brfore it all melts.

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Sung to you from Sunny California.  Trees and flowers in bloom.  Supposed to be in the 70's and sunny today.  But, I'll probably still have to wear a long sleeve shirt, with the wind chill and all.

Okay. I'll guess anyway...  End of March ( Global warming you know...)

I'm in for April 17.

I just visited your website (to get the location).  I used to live up that way in West Wardsboro, Marlboro and then Dummerston.  I really miss the Miss Bellows Falls diner and that great ice cream place in Saxtons River.  I think the telling question would be the amount of shade in your back yard.

Edit: Took a better look at your website.  10% to charity is something to be commended.

Before mud season? Before black fly season? I've seen snow in your parts pretty far into April and with the weird weather this year it's going to be a real crapshoot getting the date. Does a late April snowfall count after the winter's snow is gone? What about a warm stretch in March that melts it all only to have big dump at the end of the month? How much snow is on the ground now Michel? Okay, too many questions...April 20th.

Hmmm... I shall consult with AccuWeather's forensic meteorology group and find out when the snow is usually gone in Vermont... (there.. I gave you a hint!)
