CB750 headlight ring - Bad fit
« on: September 17, 2020, 11:56:19 PM »
Hi.
Does anyone know if aftermarket headlight rings typically have a worse fit than original or OEM rings? I have this one that fits terribly. I don't know if it's OEM or no name. I can't get it on properly and the housing is already cracked at the left hole. This ring has a pretty wide lip. I sanded the edge of the housing but it won't be enough to get it on. I'm thinking of buying an original ring but want to make sure it'll fit properly.
Thanks.

Sure you have assembled everything right?
Both my CB750 have aftermarket set from DSS.

Did some more sanding and very carefully bent in the lip all the way round the headlight ring.
As good as it gets

I was thinking.. i probably would have made a short wooden piece about 2.5 niches long, z good pit to the outerr ing.l then  would have tapped the lip back gently with a soft hammer... all the way around..

I did it with two pieces of soft plastic and pliers
