The valve guides in the 750A (and all these bikes) are cast iron. This wears with the lack of lead in the fuel. To counter it, use 1-2 ounces of oil in each tank of gas. If you can find the synthetic type of 2-stroke oil for this, it will not smoke, either (that's what I've used for a LONG time). This will extend the life of the valve guides for nearly original life. If you go into the engine, get bronze guides installed to solve this problem, it works fine.
