Head Gasket Question
« on: September 19, 2020, 12:31:29 PM »
Have a 1978 CB750F with 9,000 miles. Have noticed a bit of dampness (oil?) on a few of the upper cooling fins in the past. Not like really wet or anything, just a bit of ashy dampness. Is this a sign that I may need a head gasket?  Thanks for all responses.

More likely are the rubber dic pucks(6 of them) that cover the head bolts under the cam towers are leaking oil into the fin areas.

Motor out.
Remove cam cover, cam and towers. It's in the repair manual.
