Engine mods CB450s ( engine is based on the old 400)
« on: September 20, 2020, 06:51:42 PM »
Hi,
I own a CB450s, the engine is based on the old 400 this CB was not sold in the States mainly Europe and some in Canada.
I'm looking to increase the output, without going bigger in engine size or bike size!
On the basis this is an 86 bike with 86 brakes etc which all can be improved at a cost! What engine could reasonably completed  where the improvement could better the existing?
The existing engine is strong and runs perfectly with just 30k kilometres on the clock!

actually, those 450 modern twins were also sold in the usa as the nighthawk.

regretfully, those 250/400/450 3-valve engines (2 in. + 1 ex.) never attracted tuners, and are too modern for classic racing, so not much hop-up parts for them ASFAIK

plenty of go-fast stuff for the 250-350-450-500, 2-valve twins, none will fit your bike :(
