Honda clone?
« on: October 04, 2020, 04:47:07 PM »
if i remember right, this is a clone of a Honda trail bike?  Can someone tell me which model? It needs work and I figure it would be easier to find genuine Honda parts than to find parts from a defunct importer.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

The engine style, etc. actually look very much like an early Honda CT70H,which is the engine with 72cc and a 4-speed standard clutch transmission.

There is a company in Taiwan which is licensed to sell Honda clones like 50cc mopeds and motors to the small four stroke engines like the one you have. the name of the company is SYM (San Yang Motors). hope you can find what you need through them.

That’s interesting, there are a lot of cheap Sym scooters here in Oz, I thought they were cheap garbage from China after I saw one that Jeff at Ace Motorcycles had pulled apart and declared unrepairable due to the 1 pint of oil capacity never being checked or changed, and every bearing in the engine had turned to mud. I might have to take a closer look at one now. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

lifan and others are licensed or some #$%* to copy the old honda design?the z50 here was semi auto three speed 50cc,ct70 (dax)was 72cc three speed semi auto, the st70 had a one up and two down transmission for some reason?the amigo was a 50cc push rod thing with 2 speed semi auto, the motor is in our honda "postie"(postal service)bikes in 125cc and semi auto, the chinese ones go to 140/150cc.

I had an Amigo Dave, it was a great little bike. I just bought a 1967 CL90 from the original owner, when I'm too old to ride "real" bikes, I'll be riding it around terrorising the neighborhood. ;D
