You bought a really comfy seat, Terry!!
Bike included!! ;D ;D

Ha ha, I offered him a few hundred dollars less than he was asking for the bike Per, so I told him he could keep the seat, but he didn't want it either! Maybe I'll turn it into a bar stool? Whatever happens, it won't be staying on the bike long.......  ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

That seat is too good to just put in the bin.
A bar stool that can be used in the garage too.
Add a sissy bar with matching backrest. Perfect for drink and ride at home! ;D

You might find a road-side vendor,half-way back from Sturgis,to sell it to a rider who's heading back East from a round-trip ride this year:that seat could make the ride a bit softer.  ::)

I knew a guy that bought one for his CB500 after a girl (not girlfriend) that often rode with him prefered my bike. His CB500 seat was too uncomfortable.
It was 1st summer with my stock K6 1979.

That seat looked enormous on a CB500. It need at least an early GL1000.

Ha ha, thanks guys, I get bashed here occasionally for posting pics of my non CB750’s which makes me laugh inwardly, while I love my Triumph’s, Harleys, Yamaha’s etc, I’ve consistently owned CB750’s since I bought my first one new in 1978, so while the other bikes I own are great fun, CB750’s are my “Bread and Butter” bikes, I’ll always have one or two in various stages of disrepair.

I’ll be interested to see how many K0 parts are left on the new Bitsa, it’s a 1969(?)1015XXXX frame so a bit later than my 1010XXXX cases, but K0 stuff is pretty hard to find now, so it’ll be another budget build, I have a wrinkle tank, K0 fork lowers to swap out with those K1 forks, a single cut front fender, plus some other stuff. I think I’ll install the Lesters because they’ve got new tyres on them and new cast iron drilled discs, so I’ll do a twin disc conversion, buy a repro airbox, another Delkevic pipe, and I’ll sell my soul (again) for some cable carbs, because I love the lighter throttle pull, even though they’re a b1tch to set up.

I don’t have another K0 head and barrels, but have a very early K1 head and I’ll bore some cylinders for either Wiseco 836 pistons or Cycle X 849 pistons as I have a new set here. It’ll be a mild custom, but still recognisable as a (mostly) K0. Should be a fun bike! ;D

+1, "...riding, wrenching, and ginger beer adventures..." (the list could go on, and on)

Yes they're red, but what the hell, I was riding a red bike, so I was colour coordinated. Not particularly comfortable for walking any distance in, but fine for their intended purpose.

Ha ha, well I've retired the red boots after finding my 20(+) year old (but never worn) "Made in the USA" Redwing boots in the back of my wardrobe, (I think my folks brought them back from one of their trips to the US to visit my sister when she lived in California) which are much more comfy. ;D

Those Are nice vintage Redwings, they even look like they're 're-soleable'repairable if you wore the soles out;I purchased Redwing walking shoes in the early 80's that had that molded sole.. they didn't last long.

Terry..... I got the s/c running perfectly on the cable pull carbs I built for it (swapped them for another set of carbs with a kind member of this Forum). While searching through all my bits, for parts that were missing, I came across enough to build another set! Let me know when you are ready, and I’ll see what I can put together. John D.

I bought a pair of Wolverine pigskin work boots for working in a lumber yard one summer while in college and the soles at the bend for ball of the foot for one shoe split completely before they were 3 months old. I took them back to the shop I bought them at and they sent them back to Wolverine. Wolverine sent a letter back saying they were worn out. I wrote them a lengthy letter and told them I found it very odd they would characterize and classify my boots as worn out given they were less than three months old. I wore them six days a week while working that summer in a lumberyard and while they were dirty and worn if they were worn out in three months...well that didn't represent the brand reputation of being tough and long wearing.  The pigskin were supposedly breathable and were advertised as being tough. So, I used every thing I could think of I had ever seen in a tv or print advert for Wolverine to goad them and kick them in the nuts about the durability and disappointment in their product not living up to the reputation and the legendary tough shoes. They refunded my money.

Cobblers are a dying breed, best to keep them in business. A good ethical cobbler will tell you if you should just buy a new pair of shoes or not.  Heat can cause gues to break down. A new pair of shoes I had left at my apartment in Dayton ended up not moving a month later. I had taken a car load to Sierra Vista and moved there and booked a flight back to Dayton to move my stuff a month later after finding an apartment. Well, I ruptured my achilles tendon the second Tuesday on the job and then could not load and move my things and two weeks of lodging in the hotel was far more than I planned for... Ended up having to ask my brother and some friends move my things from Dayton into storage. They moved them to TN and the expenses of the doctors and being on crutches for over a year after they did the surgery two months after the 95% rupture and it was 18 months before I was walking close to normal again but no where near as strong. The time in storage in a hot summer or two later and the shoes looked and smelled fine but after wearing them for 3 months the glue failed and the outer skin of the rubber soles began peeling away.

No apparently it’s a ‘73 engine Frank, but I have most of the parts for a K0 bottom end, if you’ve got a K0 head and cylinder block for sale, let me know? ;D

I finally put the tank I painted for the K0 on today. I installed a new Honda cap and a key lock off another tank, and a new Honda petcock, half filled it with fuel and parked it on it's centre stand to see if there were any leaks, but by 6pm it was all good, so I call success. Heathcote pie run tomorrow! ;D
