Have you checked your surrounding area with Google maps, search for restaurants finding new places along nice roads?

I have done that, so I have some new routes to ride, new restaurants food too eat!

I have to wait for Global warming to happen!! 
I'm not a member of that woolly-minded sect, just a biker waiting for rideable wheather as I often did in the 80's remembering our lousy weather back in the 70's

Thanks Per, well I missed out on my pie the last couple of weekends due to the K2 bitsa engine rebuild, so I'm really looking forward to one tomorrow. It's supposed to be raining on Sunday, so I need to get my pie fix tomorrow. There are plenty of other eateries I could go to, there's a nice "Charcoal Chicken" place on my way back that I've stopped at a few times, and all the pubs are open again, but I just like the Heathcote bakery, and really enjoy that particular ride.

Ok, a car can get one of its front tires bitten and crash!

I also prefer to have my bike within sight at a restaurant stop.

Yeah mate, I've never had a bike stolen, but one of our cars got stolen a few years ago, and even though it was insured, it was a pain in the arse. We got it back a few days later with no damage, but all the junk in the console and glove box etc was stolen, even an old picnic rug was taken, there are some weird people in this world.

An old Italian man reversed into my first Harley Sportster in 1987 and knocked it over, (then took off) so I'm more worried about someone damaging the K0, because even though it's insured, good K0 parts are hard to find.

Well the day started with a shock, the shipping quote to collect the latest CB750 project was $563! ($435 USD) but when I measured the distance it was over 2000 Km (1200 miles) so couldn't really b1tch. Shipping for the K2 frame I bought from Brisbane was $115, which I thought was pretty fair, but even so, I had a bill of $678 ($525) to pay, so I contacted a friend who I've done some some K0 parts horse trading with previously, and offered him my wrinkle tank for $615 ($476) plus postage, and he said, "Sure". Thank God for that!

Anyhoo, it was a beautiful warm sunny Melbourne day, so I wheeled the K0 out into the sunlight and once again admired that shiny tank.

I don't know whether it appreciated it's new tank, but it just seemed to warm up and idle smoother than usual, which is pretty good anyway. I wonder if maybe the vent in the 51 year old tank might have been slightly blocked? Regardless, it just seems to run better and better with every ride. I won't bother to tell you where I went for fear of being criticized for my food choices, but needless to say, it was another fantastic 135 mile ride. I stopped at this war memorial and wondered what the soldier who posed for the statue would have thought about me parking a Japanese bike beside him?

The ride back was great, I stopped and refuelled at the 100 mile mark (exactly) and it used 10 litres, so that worked out to 45 miles per (imperial) gallon. It could probably do more if I dropped the needles a notch, but it's going so well, I think I'll just leave it alone. The last 15 miles was on the freeway and I was riding beside a poser in a new Maserati which I quite liked, (the car, not the driver) and I think he was pissed off that my 51 year old Honda sounded so much better than his $300K car. He kept trying to accelerate past me, so I just kept pace with him with the cackle of the Delkevic pipe drowning out his expensive cage.

No doubt he could have gone twice as fast as my little 750, but traffic was never gonna let him get past me, so eventually I split up the line of cars in front of us just to piss him off some more. I got home and as there's rain on the way I parked the K2 bitsa and the K0 in the garage, and moved the F2 and the new "dodgy K0" bitsa into the middle of the carport to keep them out of the rain. The K0 has now done 1820 trouble free miles, and is probably my favourite bike at the moment, it's just such a pleasure to ride. I'm looking forward to my next ride, I might try to turn over the odometer to 2000 miles next trip, we'll see.

Still waiting for warmer weather.
I noticed yesterday that my K2's battery was stone dead.
Impossible to charge. It was alive at last ride Feb 28. No warning to die years too early. It has been tendered 24-72 hours/month. New battery enter bike tomorrow so it will be ready for a ride. Not cheap GEL this time, even cheaper wet battery.

Try Schubert C3 Pro. Also flip up with built in sun visor.
The one color ones are not that pricey today.
Good for upright position.

The later C4 Pro for sports bikes with not upright position so opening with visor is bigger and wider for sight.

Which helmet is decided by your heads outside, not inside

It must fit and feel comfortable. This is one of few my box shaped head accept.

G'Day John, I've only seen pics of Per's Schubert, which looks very nice, but I don't think they're sold in Oz? This is my second Nolan, I'm a Nolan fan, made in Italy like your Benelli's, and I chose the Italian flag color scheme. It's my second Nolan, and after owning Arai's, Shoei's, and Bell's, I'm sold on Nolan's, and wouldn't go back. It's a "Modular" helmet, but not in the normal "Flip Up" sense, rather, you can wear it as an open face, or clip in a chin guard, and wear it as a full face.

Like per's Schuberth's, it has the flip down sun shield, which is really handy for me as I wear prescription glasses, and with my previous helmets I had to take a pair of prescription sunglasses wherever I rode, which was a PITA. As you'd expect, it's a quality build, and apart from being a bit tight around my ears for the first few months it's very comfortable, but I don't notice that pressure on my ears as much now.

Wind noise is probably about the same as any other helmet, I think it had less wind noise than a normal full face helmet, because full face helmets have to be loose at their bases so you can push the widest part of your head into them, whereas an open face helmet always seems to fit tighter around the base of your head and neck, because of the way you put it on.

Good looking Nolan helmet Terry:that flip-down sheild is great as I also wear prescrips and that would come in handy.The set-up looks a lot like a jet pilot's helmet,imo.

Well, I hate to hijack Terry's thread (if that is possible) but:
Wife (looking over my shoulder at the food picture): Where is that from?
Me: Heathcote Bakery, somewhere in Oz.
Wife: What is it?
Me: Probably a meat pie.

Nice rides on an old Honda with a stop at a cafe or restaurant is to really enjoy life!

Simply harvest the fruits of the restore/repair/modification work on the bike.

It is fun when people give my old CB750 more attention than the newer very expensive bikes parked beside.
All $$$$ and work burried in it feels very good then!

Terry has several old bikes for that to happen.

I finally put the tank I painted for the K0 on today. I installed a new Honda cap and a key lock off another tank, and a new Honda petcock, half filled it with fuel and parked it on it's centre stand to see if there were any leaks, but by 6pm it was all good, so I call success. Heathcote pie run tomorrow!

Thanks guys, I'd like to go back to the 1980's when I could buy CB750's and Z1's for pennies, then buy as many as I could and store them somewhere safe, and I'd be a wealthy man now. Of course, the "Butterfly Effect" might turn that dream into a nightmare, damn it. The floods up north (nowhere near me) are devastating, whole towns under water.

It's sadly ironic that this time last year we were still mopping up the massive bushfires that decimated whole communities right along the Eastern Seaboard, and now it's under water. Hopefully we won't get any of that volume of rain down here, 2020 sucked with bushfires and Covid-19 lockdowns, I'd really like just one trouble free year this year so I can get on with bike fixing and riding.
