hydraulic lift table bleeding
« on: October 09, 2020, 06:01:13 PM »
I'm not sure what brand I have here but it needs to be topped up and bled.  The lift doesn't go all the way up and the pedal only has pressure at the end of its stroke.  I don't see a port on the red ram and assume it's done through the black valve body.  Does anyone know how to bleed one of these?

Mine had  the same symptoms but on my jack it had a little rubber bung on top of the jack body. only took about 50ml of jack oil to fix.

If the cylinder does not have a fill port (rubber plug as described ^^) try the big bolt on top of the pump valve. Fully extend the cylinder, then add small amounts of fluid in there?

This large hex nut seems to be some kind of bleed port but I haven't been able to fill through it.  I need to replace the seal in the release valve first.  Then maybe filling it up through a hose fitting while extended (overfilling) and letting the excess vent out through that bleed port?

Try fully extending the ram (and hold it there), and then fill through the bleed port?

Be sure to block the table in the up position before removing anything.

Thanks for the replies. Yes blocking it up while working on it was critical. I have it figured it out now. That hex nut is a bleeder and that other silver stud is a check valve that can removed to fill the reservoir. This was missing a copper crush washer and fluid leaked from here. Everything is working well now.
