Yeah , I was thinking about an older machine once too. I had an old Royal Enfield rider from N.J. who had parked his bike outside our local pizza parlor just before a raging downpour. I could hear him getting ready to ride back home once the rain had stopped so I came out to see how he was making out. He was kicking the hell out of that beautiful old O.D. green machine with orange pinstripes and there was no indication that it would pop until the electrics got dried out. I asked him if he would like to wheel that beauty into the theater just down the street where I could set him up with a hairdryer for the electrics mounted on frame under a light metal cover with no seal just behind the front tire ( stupid place for that stuff) and he took me up on it. While it was drying out he told me how he had spent years rebuilding that machine and I asked him if it was the finding of old parts that was the issue. Much to my surprise his answer was" NO ,that the Royal Enfield Club keeps meticulous records and know were all but 400 surviving machines are since production and that parts that are almost lost to time have been re manufactured by this club and stockpiled overseas so that Enfield owners all over the world are never without parts for any model year Enfield. Well about this time everything was all dried up and he was putting the cover plate back on said thank you and away he went . Gosh what a lovely machine...with most parts still available....simple to build, not too expensive to get in on, I wanted one in the worst way and if I ever find one that fits the bill I'm getting it. So far that hasn't happened, but given the chance , one would be following me home . That is always in the air that surrounds this mind but it's all in the timing.
Whiskey . Well , never acquired a taste for that but Gin , wine , beer, Rum, and I have been known to have been good at drinking that but never on 2 wheels. What 30's bike would be your fancy besides an Indian?
