Ganaraska Forest Trail Rides - ONTARIO
« on: October 08, 2020, 11:58:36 am »
Yesterday a bunch of my vintage bike club friends went to the Ganaraska Forest. There’s a riding school in the middle of 11,000 hectares. When you get in there they out fit you with gear and give you one of about 80 HONDA CRF250 motorcycles. 4-stroke, electric start, quiet and huge torque.... my son came along and we had an incredible afternoon. 5 of us with a guide/leader and a sweep rider. Never saw the same trail twice and I bet we rode 150+ kilometres of sand, dirt, mud, grass and everything else! Mostly single track, some wider and back roads at speed. Dumped it a few times in deep sand, but no bruises! Can hardly stand up today. Highly recommended........

P.S. end of season, group rate, cash $150/each. Fantastic deals can be negotiated.

That is great!  Currently working my ass off around the clock trying to get my crf450 in shape for some michigan trail riding this weekend...would be much more relaxing to use a prepared bike.
If it works good, it looks good...

I went there about 4 years ago.  It was the best time I've had on a motorcycle in a long time.  I crashed about 5 times but the bikes were fine and all the gear I had made me feel safe.  They run a great operation and I highly recommend them.

After going there I bought a 76 xt500 to do some trail riding.  It wasn't the right bike for riding trails.  I find that I stop a lot or stall going up hills and much prefer electric start rather than kicking over a 45 year old bike while precariously perched on the edge of a cliff.  Sold the xt500 this year.

Yes.... the CRF250 is incredibly light, easy to handle and amazing suspension travel. As long as we were at 90 degrees, the bike simply crosses over 10” logs on its own! Our guide/instructor was great too. Kept us challenged, but stayed within our limits.,..,l
