Fitting round tops on later engine.

I have round top carbs off a 72. I have a 77 engine. Can I use the boots from the 72 to install the carbs? The intake ports on the 77 engine are larger. Just wanted to ask before I try and force them on.

yeah, I know it works. Use the 70-76 boots. It may be necessary to carve them out slightly with a flapper wheel on a die grinder or something. I don't think so though, just good, soft, fresh boots with a heat gun and some grease.

I lubed mine up and they twisted on, they were not real soft , but somewhat flexible. .

I used my ‘72 boots, just needed a heat gun and they went right in.
