I will let you know soon, if they don't ship through the Suez canal. I've had 3 1/4 sets of Yamiya pipes and will report on the differences. 2 sets are still here.

The cmsnl link look like HM341 pipes with its typical end plug design.
The earlier type like Yamiya no numbers have better flow and will work fine with 836 + more.

Yamiya's Lotus root pipes have even less restrictions inside. But the price is substansially higher.

These would be at home on my brothers K4. He could even show me how he modified the baffles lol. Lotus Root even sold out now. I had read early on these had a problem with rattles in the baffles. Hopefully that has been resolved by now. Nothing worse than a buzzy exhaust.

I'm curious about the differences between M-Tec Chukyo and the PMC exhausts. Which ones Yamiya sells, and which type I own? The no number pipes I received were way different in packaging leading me to wonder if they came from different manufacturers. The ones on the sandcast were wrapped and secured in poured foam, the ones on the diecast were packed in a load of newspaper and bubble wrap IIRC.

Both out of stock at manufacturer. I assume factory shutdown's in Indonesia are to blame. I've read much of their textile industry may not re-open. Apparently, these were made on original tooling that was procured in Japan. My buddy that was a tool and die maker said the US manufacturers scrap all of their obsolete tooling but in Japan they store much of it away for reasons like this.

Thanks, you are one of the few that have tested many of the options we have and I value your information. This one will remain stock. The diecast still has a k3 engine with 836 ported, cammed and with Yamiya no number pipes. I plan to spend more time with an O2 sensor probe in that bike, it's #1 carb is acting up a bit.

We need a translator so damn bad. It would be so awesome to be able to ask questions of some of these Japanese industrial craftsman. I follow a bunch of japanese old bike guys and shops on instagram. The quality level of their restorations, repairs, and repro and custom parts is mind blowing. Would be amazing to have some of these guys posting here.

That brings up another thing I think about a lot...all the old bikes that get bought up just to be imported. Generally, this makes me mad and sad. Then I see what is done with these bikes in Japan on Instagram and I don't quite feel so bad, especially compared to the horrible neglect and destruction that often happens in this country.

Agreed, I bought a 750a that was left in a fence row. Not a lot left but I'll make sure it provides parts for another few bikes.
A friends nephew cut up a Yamaha and asked me to help fix the wiring, he couldn't make the taillight work. Said he didn't need the old one and cut off all the wiring. Couldn't make a mount for the new taillight either.

So there are different makers of the 3 types of CB750 K0-K6 4-4 pipes?
I have a set of Yamiya Lotus Root waiting to be used again and one set of their No numbers on my K2.

I also found thanks to a friend that carbs must be jetted different comparing No numbers with HM341. My settings were way too rich for his K2 that needed needles in the middle, main jets 105. My carbs have needles 1 step richer and 115 mains like a 4-1 could have.
(He has a 4th model of old pipes stamped CB750 on another bike, more open like my no numbers using HM300 baffles/diffusers. But the HM300 baffles does not fit.)

I understand those who build a 100% stock build of a K2-K6 that prefer the HM341. I know one guy (retired gentleman) that never should use something else than HM341on his K2 builds.
If nothing new avalaible, I'm sure he can repair an old good set and rechrome it as he did with fenders and rims. I doubt he can use non Honda screws/parts inside, not visible.
His K2 has a very silent idle, not a tiny bit of "clutch" rassle. A real sewing machine.
Not too fast cruising there either....

I believe there are 3 makers, I did a little digging, M-Tec Chukyo seems to be related to Mugen which is run by Mr. Honda's son. He once produced a prototype based on the Vincent bike, too bad they didn't built those. PMC builds quite a few exhausts, maybe most of them. I bought a reproduction cb400 muffler from DSS which David said was made in England, I did get a set of no number pipes from him that didn't say Yamiya on the box, but it had a Yamiya instruction sheet inside. I'm not sure who produces the ones CMS sells, early reports said the CMS pipes sometimes had a rattle inside. I plan to coat them internally with Eastwood inside the pipe silver exhaust coating like I did all of my no name pipes.
I believe the Asian pipes are made in Indonesia which was hit hard by the pandemic and the government shut down most factories. Java had a volcano that caused evacuations and there was flooding in some other areas. I haven't found anything specific about the exhaust factories.

I see Monaka welding makes Yoshimura style hand bent pipes and mufflers for many types and possibly always has. They too are unavailable at this time. What I've seen are awesome.
Now I see another connection, Monaka Welding makes custom race style pipes for PMC.

I got some of my info from webike. They are one of the few that mention who makes the parts.
Monaka apparently makes butt weld pipe fittings and may have developed the spec for two seam fittings.
All of this has me wondering if DID can make some rolled rear rims. L0L!

I believe I'm taking some of Franks advise and not doing a full restoration on this one. Once the gold tank set is on I may decide otherwise but for now I'll proceed with putting it back together with new bearings and tires.
I put a later shock in my press and used the bearing splitter to hold the spring cup. The cups came off intact and cleaned up. Removing the dent in the original cover didn't go so well.

Before I got this bike something had fallen on the headlight, right turn signal and tach. I was able to buy a tach here and got new plastic for the speedometer. The lens isn't glued in so I need to figure that out. I ordered a chrome marker to see if I can duplicate the back of the lens.
I dug a near perfect headlight assembly out of my parts tubs to go into the gold bucket, found reinforcement sleeves in plastic and steel since this cracked one is lacking a few, the new bucket will need the paint honed out of the holes. I touched up some frame paint, turn signals are OK but the stems gotta go. New front wheel tomorrow on fedex, The battery box cleaned up nice.

11 days to ship the exhaust, leads me to believe they don't stock them, and makes me wonder who does. Oddly I'm having trouble cutting off the nice looking but really old back tire, it has a 6 digit date code but has to be expired, it's the hoarder gene coming through. Now I have to toss it to prove I can. I had to throw away the old headlight bucket, only two of the three bolt holes were broken and gone.

I got a new did front rim and spoke sets but I just can't make myself take the old one apart. I think I'll go to my brothers storage and look at more rims before I decide.

CMSNL now shows April 8 as the ship date, I'm sure my pipes are on the far side of the Suez canal. L0L. Still checking daily for PMC or M-Tec no number pipes.
My new front DID rim was made in Indonesia, this adds credence to my theory that no number pipes and DID rims are out of production due to Indonesia closing factories due to the pandemic.

Front end off, all balls neck bearings going in. Oddly enough, no balls. New brake hoses and neck bearings, the top tree is broken of course. I gotta learn to weld these things. Plenty to practice on.
The neck bearings went easily, but I've done a few now. They didn't come with the thin bottom washer that I think older ones did. I'm deciding what to do with the tree. I may weld up a few, with the number of running riding bikes I've found broken top trees on I can't imagine a welded one would be worse.
These handlebars suck, I'm putting on a better set. My triple tree had better bolts that polished perfectly but now I'm short one for the final K0 that I intended to sell here and not build.

Word is the Indonesian fabric manufacturing is not going to reopen.
My favorite Chinese restaurant, best in Tucson I amd manu others believe is not going to reopen their dining room. It sucks but the husband is getting older and he isn't as stressed with the carryout business.

It seems many manufacturers have slowed way down. I'm a fan of Yamaha home receivers and when I look at their site most of the stuff is out of stock.

Not good if production slows down globally. That will hit everybody.

Around 2008-2011 was not fun when the global economy got a flat, people lost their jobs.

Our local breakfast spot won't go back to dine in food now it's carry out lunch and dinner. My family used to meet there every Saturday morning. It started out being car club guys, then they slowly stopped coming and it gradually turned to family and my 3 siblings would meet there, 17 seats in the place and at times we took up 10 of them.

The ship date on the pipes is moved back a full week now. If PMC or M-Tec Chukyo sets through webike, DSS or yamiya become available I'll buy two and cancel these. I'm betting Webike is closer to the source.

I'm fighting the fork ear bushings, they fit in the old ears. not in the gold ones. I've got silicone grease everywhere. Argg. Heat and sanding are in their future. Would be easier if the ears were chrome.
