I looked at the Beringer site, it looks like they have calipers for the CB750, with discs.
Would be interesting to check out.

Yep a couple of guys here in Oz on the FB CB750 page have bought the Beringer setup and love them. I’ve had twin disc setups on CB750’s for years, and while better than one disc, they’re not great. I’m sending off a spare K0 disc to Hugh Robinson for him to install a cast iron drilled rotor, and have ordered stainless braided lines for my K0 as the front brake on it is sh1t in dry weather, so will be way worse in the wet. I would have popped for the Beringer setup, but am trying to keep it looking reasonably original.

 I triple disc'd the 76F I had and loved the brakes. I've seriously considered doubles on my K0 restomod. I have a complete K0 caliper and rotor setup, just haven't been willing to cut the bracket.

 I got the paint set from one of our buddies but on the Sandcast site.  It's a Honda wrinkle tank, headlight and fork ears with new side covers and airbox.  Painted by the guy that does Vic Worlds stuff.

Nice Don. What bracket are you talking about cutting to effect the twin disc setup? I've done it on both early and later forks and don't remember cutting anything, but it was a long time ago.

I have a dual Beringer set up on my CB550. Mine was the prototype, as the US Distributor is a buddy of mine.  As pictured, I originally had the axial MC.  I ended up switching to a radial MC that increased feel.  My bike now brakes like a modern sport bike.

That setup looks fantastic Don, I'd love to buy the same setup for my K1, but I've been spending way too much money on bikes and parts lately, so I'll have to make do with the cast iron disc and braided lines.

They sell caliper bracket for CB750 late K2-K6 forks or is that something to be done by another shop (DIY)?

The CB550 look really good !!
Those brakes are probably not that cheap.
$2000US is not enough for a dual setup, right?

PeWe: I think your estimate for retail is about right, especially with the MC.  I am extremely fortunate to know Philippe at Beringer, who used my bike to prototype the caliper mounts and use the bike for marketing.  So, I did not pay retail for them.  Truth be told, I think that one caliper up front is enough, especially if paired with a Beringer radial MC.  With the twin calipers up front, I use one-finger braking.  The brakes are similar to those on an R6 sportbike.

My K6 dual stock brakes (DSS discs) need a firm hand  

It should be difficult to resist to "put in basket" for a complete set with everything needed, just bolt on and correct hose lenghts too

Too good front brake will bend fork more with extended wear on lower and upper fork where sliding inside with sooner leaking oil seal, right?
Stock fork not designed for good brakes!

 The fender mounts on the early caliper bracket, I was thinking they need to be trimmed off when going to the right side.

 I ordered a set of sandcast repro shocks from Z1parts. They show the correct number of exposed coils which I think is 7. Anyway more than 5 like many shocks you can buy. They have the black top and black sleeve inside the spring. I plan to try to swap out the adjuster which appears to have more than three settings. Depending on quality I may get another set for the diecast restomod which is sporting the dohc shocks.

The original K0 shocks were very advanced, upside down gas filled dampers, whereas the repro's are just copies of the late K1-K6 conventional shocks, albeit with black sleeves and black tops. I'd rather buy a set of good quality aftermarket shocks.

Correct, three settings. I may just use the springs and covers, I'll see when they arrive. I would have been a good junkyard guy. My buddies always comment on me making something out of nothing.

Ha ha, believe it or not Per, I have two big bore kits for the Harley. The pre-2004 Sporties had hemi heads like CB750's and weren't very efficient, so I bought the Hammer Perfomance 1250 kit, with an Andrews cam but never installed it. By the time I'd installed the Mikuni HSR42 and Bassani 2 into 1 pipe, 18" rear wheel with standard gearing, it'd do 120 MPH @ 6000 RPM, so I didn't bother installing it.

Two years ago, I bought the later "Buell" heads, a new Hammer Performance 1275 kit, Hammer 560 cams, and Dyna 200i ignition, and when/if I install it, it's good for around 120 BHP at the back wheel. Bye bye, 750/4's..........

Ha ha, Sean rushes in, where Angels fear to tread! The engine hasn't changed much since it's original design in 1957, it's still an OHV long stroke V twin, with 2 valves per cylinder, and one carb. Tell me how that "technology" beats a 750cc across the frame 4 with a single overhead cam and one carb per cylinder? It's always good to know what you're talking about, before you jump in to a conversation with adults.........

Terry, you got an ironhead too, right?  When you get around to working on this, have a look at the combustion chambers compared to your evo.  You will see how much work harley did between the two for surprisingly little result.  And i certainly dont understand what is so adult about trying to go fast on a farm tractor.  Fun yes, adult no.
