i have a drill press in the shop, as well as taps and dies. you don't even need a nipple if you can match the thread of the manometer screws (anyone know what the pitch is in the stock carbs?). just tap the hole, and plug it with a screw when not being used, like on the stock carbs. if you don't want to risk drilling and tapping your manifold, you might be able to fit a plastic fitting into your rubber connectors. drill a hole, pop it in, silicone it, and have a cap that can go on it when you're not using it. i'll look for something that might work if i'm at the hardware or auto parts store.
