CB400F bracket question
« on: November 04, 2020, 07:24:11 PM »
The teardown continues on my 75 CB400.  I have all the components removed from the rear end and noticed a bracket on the right-side frame spar by the battery that did not look quite right.  It looks to be bent to the outside towards the side cover.  Should it not be straight and in line with the frame?

Please see pics.

Also, the electrical component that is attached to the bracket I am guessing is an old-school rectifier.  I say guessing because it doesn't match anything in the illustrated parts breakdown nor any parts available from suppliers.  Can anyone confirm that's what it is?

Thanks for your time and help.

Yes that is the mount bracket for the rectifier as shown. It does look to be possibly bent in your one picture looking from the top it is on a slight angle it appears.
Not a big deal it will still clear the side cover when mounted.
This is a 76 CB 400F pic and it uses a more modern rectifier it appears.
