Hey Frank, the San Leandro one is from my neck of the woods but I never heard of that shop. Arlen Ness's shop was in the area on E.14th. I'm gonna go dig through my shirts now. I have a large collection and I'm pretty picky about throwing the old ones out. I'm wearing a Pink Floyd shirt right now that I probably got in the 90's. Both arm pits are blown out but hey..........I don't wear a suit & tie when I'm out working in the garage. (Remember Oliver Douglas on Green Acres?).

I think it was 82 I am as there..10 or 12 blocks from Ness,s shop..whole different world..
First time I saw a regular old big lot gas station..empty service bays and shop.. Bars on the office, a slot you put cash thru to pay for gas,, if they had chips or snacks, they wouldn't have fit a wheelbarrow, they might have had a bit if oil..not sure.. Big ol gas station, with almost nothing in it..
And there I was.. A twenties white kid, fresh out of the logging town in Revelstoke BC, wondering WTF I was doing in that place......

I have a Tommy Ivo shirt somewhere. Also Garlits and Muldowney. If I ever go back to the winternationals I'll wear the Ivo shirt to the friday night meet and greet at the museum. He was there last time.
