Loctite Orange
« on: September 27, 2020, 05:29:25 PM »
Anyone try this yet ?  3 x the strength of blue.  And no heat required  to remove..
 Sounds great for bikes..
Not like blue has not been working,  but if you still have something loosening, or for stuff like sprocket bolts, this would add a bit of security.

Blue is plenty of strength on aluminum.

I'll watch for that, I have a few bolts on the race car that make me nervous, even with blue. Like the 3 torque converter to flexplate bolts.

I found Permatex orange. This one?
https://www.permatex.com/products/thread-compounds/threadlockers/permatex-high-strength-removable-orange-threadlocker/

I often use Loctite 222 low strenght. Perfect to make bolts and nuts to not get lose by vibrations. When releasing, not the typical hard sitting, sudden click and lose.
More like self locking nuts with plastic.
The M6 bolts for front sprocket and rear sprocket nuts on my K2 and K6, rear bolts for  exhaust/footpegs, front nuts holding front wheel etc.

I even used some on my Mikuni carbs, synch nuts, screw.

RED Is great..If you Know it was used.  If you don't it causes problems.  It can be undone m but often heat is not handy.
Sounds like orange is a good alternative..
