Steering Damper for CB750K1
« on: November 19, 2020, 07:19:12 AM »
From what I can gather on the threads, the most recommended dampers were NHK Z900 or ODM 2000. Any advantages of one over the other. Would a different one be better for the CB750K1?
Also, is it better to mount cross frame or the same side?
Thanks!

This work fine on a street bike.
Both my bikes have one. My K6 has this very kit, my K2 same parts from the 80's.

I've used the NHK ODM-500 on three CB750s. Sells for $90-ish. The length is correct and it mounts on the right side. Here is a mounting bracket I use:

Mounting bracket is important.
I used an exhaust clamp in the 80's that made a flexy assembly, not good as a real bracket as sold with the CB750 kits.

I was too cheap saving a few bucks.

Steering damper really useful when rear tire is worn and cause rear  wobble.
Or when having luggage and passenger making the front end very light and front wobble occur.
