I just had the same thing happen........my 750 hasn't started or ran in the last 3 or 4 years.......been fussing with it. Carbs on and off, screws out and in, bowls off and on.......plugs out , cleaned and in, new plugs, points plate change out to new, then back to old, back to new again.

Played with the wires in the headlight, cause blew the headlight...........nothing, just crank and crank.

Yesterday, filled more gas in the tank, like almost full..........cranks, and even idles on it's own, with popping from the exhaust (first time since owning it 2007).

My little CB100 did the same, would not run unless the tank is full of gas.

Go figure............

I was using an auxiliary tank but I was able to confirm flow with clear filters. Not sure what I did, but doing the stuff I mentioned above, it started. So i am pretty stumped as to why it didn’t start, since I didn’t change much.

It doesn’t take much. It sounds like you changed just enough! Now get out there and ride!

Never trust whata clear filter shows, crabs also have to vent to receive fuel.
  First check is.. does fuel flow freely out of hose or hoses. .
 Then by opening a bowl drain , does it flow thru... and that is NOT THE SAME as a previously  full bowl emptying itself , it MUST keep re filling.

 This  is why  I sometimes perforn raw fuel test.......it OVERRIDES fuel delivery and carb problems..... AND POINTS  OUT  that is why its not running..
