SCAMMER WARNING
« on: November 11, 2020, 06:41:26 am »
Hey all, quite recently Ive posted WANT ads on two separate forums and the initial reply is by "SAM" who says his friend has the parts. When asking for a photos it comes from someone else , "ROBERT ADJI" is the latest one. Price is quote but payment must be made to his fathers Paypal as he is having trouble with his account. WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!!
One of the clues that woke me up to the scam was every reply had "sir" or "dear sir" or similar in the wording. Maybe it woke me up because no intelligent, sensible respondent would call me sir!!

Too late, I got scammed for $30.  Damn.  He was good in his responses to my questions.  Seemed legit.

Sorry about that ...
I got
Caught for $30 last year and the local cops of course are too busy with the romance scams against seniors to worry about us but what pisses me
Off the most is Facebook, google and the phone companies are making millions off these scams and they could stop it all instantly but they won’t . These scum companies make the robber barons of last century look like angels .....

User named "Samwick" tried to do the same with me. I only trust people who have been here for a while, and only pay with paypal.

How are Fakebook, google, and the phone companies making "millions" off of these petty scams?? BTW, if you get a call on your phone claiming that your "social" has been "suspended", hang up; it's a scam. A lady here in AZ recently took the bait, and following the instructions, cleaned out her bank accounts sending the money via gift cards to the scammers; it's gone, and there is no getting it back. >:(

Unless you genuinely trust the person, don’t use anything but PayPal goods and services. With things like Venmo, zelle, cash app, Facebook pay there’s a lot of way people can request money that seems innocent. Messaging someone vi FB marketplace? Facebook pay sounds convenient until you get unlucky with a scumbag.
Even selling things I’d rather someone use goods and services with me just so everyone involved has the peace of mind.

Disputed the $30 that I got scammed for with my bank and they refunded me the money.
