Chrome chain guard question..
« on: February 19, 2007, 03:57:14 PM »
I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

Im looking to see if 77-78 750K models came with a chrome chain guard. If so, how hard is it to find one?
I have a black one now, but I think I'll like a chrome one better. Does anyone know if the ones on the older or newer model 750s will fit, even with a little modification?

Thanks..

Why not have the black one you already own chromed?

Should cost no more than a case of beer.

Oops, forgot to report that I took a chance on one I saw on Ebay the other day for a Super Sport. It was it good shape and cheap, $15.00. I got it in the mail and it bolted right up. Problem now is I don't know if I really like the look of it  :-[

Thanks for the suggestions and the help :)

I was searching for the same thing for my bike (a chrome metal chain guard). I found the occasional one come across on eBay but they were all for CB550s not my CB500. I eventually discerned that they were never an option for the 500 and ended up modifying one off of a CB750 - a '79, I think. It was the perfect size but I had to get creative with some brackets and drill/tap a hole on the swing arm. (close to where Honda later put one on the 550s) It looks pretty good, actually, a lot better than the plastic one.

I plan on taking a bunch of picks of my bike (post numerous winter mods), now that I am wrapping up the last small details, and will get some of the chain guard, in case you decide to go that route.  ;D
