Hi, I’m a new member to the forum from Texas and new to Honda 4’s. I’m a longtime CB450 owner and recently picked up a CB750. Im in the process of cleaning and syncing the carbs and I’m going to clean the tank out.

I’ve heard good reviews on Metal Rescue tank cleaner, it appears to be a Blaster(PB) product.

Anybody tried it?

Having trouble posting pics, will do when it’ll let me.

Haven’t used Metal Rescue but I tried Evapo-Rust on my last project, a 750 tank with mild rust. I’ll never use anything else again. That stuff worked great and was soooo much less hassle compared to the other methods (electrolysis, toilet bowl cleaner, muriatic acid, citric acid, other ineffective stuff).

If the Metal Rescue products is the same concept, I think you’ll be pleased.

We use EvapoRust as well. When we rinse a gas tank we skip the water rinse and rinse with diesel. Usually four good rinses. They come out so clean I can't bear to put water in them. The diesel gets the water out, leaves an oily coat in the tank after you are done and dilutes in the gas when it is time to use it.
