Anyone know where to get the tiny cotter pins used on 750 carbs?
« on: September 21, 2007, 09:37:37 AM »
I was wondering if anyone knew of a source for the really tiny cotter pins used on the CB750 choke linkages. I've used plain wire that will fit in the holes and bent the ends, but I wondered if the tiny pins are available. I've looked around, but cannot find anyone that carries them that small...

Jonesy, I recently had the same problem. Honda still sells them. I've got 10 of them and could drop a few in the mail, but you could give your part number to the Honda desk and get them just a quick.

Unless you are determined to use the correct cotter, I used these (in the appropriate size). Makes future work easier and Haven't had any problems.

I used the same and found them at the local Ace Hardware.

I just cut some paper clips and made my own.... didn't want to wait for my order when my carbs were over the workbench.

I just bought 40 or 50 of them (3/64x1/4 inch) stainless steel. Ridiculously cheap...shipping cost more than the cotter pins!

Message me if you need a few and I will mail them to you

I recently did my brothers 76 GL carbs, I used safety wire but would have preferred either type of pin. I still miss our Ace hardware. Lowes and Menards caused them to close.

We just finished a set of Interceptor 1000 carbs and replaced all of the cotter pins with the stainless hairpin clips. There's at least six of the tiny cotter pins used on these carbs. They came in the carb kits from Billy's Outback. He specializes in the Honda V4's.

I think that 14 years later the issue will have been taken care off?
