Watches progressed in the 17th century from spring-powered clocks, which appeared as early as the 14th century. During most of its history the watch was a mechanical device, driven by clockwork, powered by winding a mainspring, and keeping time with an oscillating balance wheel. These are called mechanical watches.[1][2] In the 1960s the electronic quartz watch was invented, which was powered by a battery and kept time with a vibrating quartz crystal. By the 1980s the quartz watch had taken over most of the market from the mechanical watch. Historically, this is called the quartz revolution (also known as quartz crisis in Swiss).[3][4] Developments in the 2010s include smartwatches, which are elaborate computer-like electronic devices designed to be worn on a wrist. They generally incorporate timekeeping functions, but these are only a small subset of the smartwatch's facilities.

This is how the trashing of the 305 forum started,  spammers would post all kinds of crap like this and sports scores and game recaps. Pretty soon it was just all junk. They finally got ahold of it and straightened things out. But they did loose alot of traffic.

I have a special nut smashing hammer if anyone wants to bring one of those spammers by some time😁.

Maybe someone mistakenly asked, “What time is it?”

Does anybody really know what time it is?!

This was a spambot that was reported to the mods 4 days ago, as well as a post on an existing thread on the open forum. That post was deleted, but I don't know why this one wasn't? In any case, the OP was nuked by the mods, which is why he appears as a guest.. ;)

Interesting: that same name turned up in the [hundreds of] 'bot-generated fake cusomer entries in my website. too.
Hmph.
For 38 years I've been programming computers (sometimes after building them first, from the circuit design up) to control things, mostly machinery. Along the way I have grown very tired of having to use them after work, when I'd rather be working on something with 4 cylinders and 2 wheels...or maybe primer setter-offers...now I'm beginning to like the idea of making 'anti-bots' to grab hold of these electronic punks and see how they'd like it if someone packeted into their hard drive and stole space, disrupted things, broke laws and stole elections or monies.

...Kind of like Stuxnet, which is absolutely brilliant. :)
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

The Honda Ascot forum got hit with a 'bot attack a few years ago, generating posts by the second. The pattern is to comment on an existing thread, in a very vague way, like "I was wondering the same thing", then start threads about nonsense such as this one. At one time, the forum software prevented external links from members with less than 5 posts, but I'm not sure if that is still in effect..

I've seen this in various places, and wonder just what is the aim of this kind of spam - there are no links to click, no brand names for search optimisation, nothing to contact at all. Sometimes when googling things I come up with whole sites just full of this crap. There must be some kind of point to it I guess, any ideas anyone?
