Proper fitments for the SOHC750s etc would certainly require a shorter shock.  13 inches or so.  Also IMHO you should loose the gold accents on the silver shock.  Looks kind of tacky. I would certianly consider these shocks  in the $200 price range assuming the quality/performance is good and that they are properly sized. . . .

I am interested in a set for my cafe, but I am afraid fifteen inches may be a bit tall. Is there much adjustment as far as ride height or is there a shorter model?

currently a shorter model is not available.....however certain Kawi and suzuki bikes do require a shorter piece. We are developing those presently and will offer them within 30 days. Just a note: the vintage race team that we sponsor is using this exact model on a 76 CB750......please kep an eye on our website for developments

color preference is certainly a personal choice.Ohlins for example, use gold as their dominant color on the vast majority of there shocks The gold accents were chosen by asking a large number of potential customers. The next model will be have less 'bling' so to speak. With color aside the original SOHC shocks were under length. Opting for some additional length will provide a far better handling SOHC. We believe that a vintage machine with a stock length of 13 inches should be bumped up to atleast 13.75 to 14.00. That would be proper fitmentment in our view. That is assuming you want your vintage bike to feel younger than its years by providing a far more nimble 'turn in' without any associated loss in high speed stability.Track testing does not lie.

All of us are always looking for new stuff for our rides. I'm sure the Mods won't mind you answering questions asked of you right here. It would save us all a lot of emails I'm sure.

what's the poop on them?  Are the taller than a standard 750? preload? .......

The lentgh of the model shown is 15 inches eye to eye and there is a preload adjustment. We are currently utilizing 2 different spring rates. we have several test bed bikes. One is a 76 cb750 vintage racebike the others include 2 1983 cb1100fs and an 81 cb750 F. They are engineeered in North America (USA and Canada). All testing and metallurgy was done here(N.A.) We offer a 24 month replacement warranty and they are rebuildable.

What else would you like to know?....I am all ears.
In modern terms...adjustable preload requires rebound adjustment...minimum. I run Hyperpros...not the top of the line but adjustable rebound. Your shocks look nice...they look like they have adjustable compression based on the reservoir. All aside...I'd like to recommend your product to others...you need some adjustments though.

I have a 33" inseam and can only just flat foot on my 78K 750 with a stock seat (comfortable, good for two up).  Manuevering it about to park etc is already a workout.  There is absolutely no way that I would want to go with a longer shock.  If you look at the specs for various aftermarket shock suppliers for the SOHC 750s like Works Performance, Ikon, Progressive, Hagon, Hyperpro, Wilbers etc the shock that they would supply you (unless you requested otherwise) would be pretty much stock length.  Certainly with an cafed seat, rearsets etc it may be desireable to go with a longer shock.   Please understand that it is very encouraging to see a growing aftermarket for our bikes but having options, particularly a stock length one, would go a long way towards selling your product to the SOHC market.

Perhaps  a "test" set should be mailed to me and I can provide a great service to our users with both photos and my opinion of color choice and handling ;D

Unfortunately I don't think we are going to see any pics. They seem to have dropped off the grid even though the website is still up. They were only selling on ebay and I was able to buy a set before they stopped. The ebay username is vipexperformance. No feedbacks from buyers for a long time and that last was a neg. for not getting the shocks. The ones I bought were shipped promptly as I got in on the deal when they first started. I modified them for a KZ1000 project by removing the clevis mount and machining an eyelet type to screw on. They even wanted my progress on the project to help them develop their KZ and GS line. They are quite tall at 15" and would change the geometry of a SOHC quite a bit. They even raised the massive KZ1000 in the rear but the spring rates and damping are better suited for that beast, the reason I bought them. It's too bad things seem to have stopped over there. If things had taken off for them they could have developed more applications and adjustments to their product line. The fit and finish of the shocks is quite good.
