Has anybody dealt with these people? I am trying to get a set of fork springs for my 400f and I have e-mailed them more than once and no reply and also phoned them and just end up going from one person back to another.What's going on with these guys?

I had the same result when I emailed them.  I tried three times, then I told them to go pound sand up their arse when they finally replied.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't fare well with them. I have a couple sets of shocks from them and am well satisfied. I do remember asking about fork springs for a 550 and was told they didn't dabble in springs for the older stuff anymore.

I have two sets of rear shocks, one I have been running on my Hellcat and one set of blacked out shocks for my new CB750 cafe project.  Also ordered the spring set for the front end, not quite sure they told you they don't do old stuff as I thought that was a large part of their business.

They can be a pain in the ass to deal with at time (I only agree because I am impatient and expect excellent service from all businesses), but their product is awesome IMHO and turn around is quick.  I had them rebuild my Hellcat shocks and add 1/2" to the length and have been loving them ever sense.  Sorta have to have something that is a little more stiff with my size.  Last time I was in Cali I stopped to visit them and they seemed like good people!  Again my opinion....

Hey Wilson,

I know I'm getting into this discussion late in the game, but I had a very positive experience with Works.  I too emailed them and got some responses but it was when I called them that I got really good service.  I called shortly after December 25, 2006 for some dual rate fork springs for my '70 cb750K0.  I spoke to a guy named Raul and he answered all my questions and really knew his stuff.  Very easy to talk to and was willing to knock 10% off the purchase price of the springs.  The shipping was pretty quick from California to Wisconsin.  I'd give them a thumbs up, but I would call and ask to speak to him.  I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever, so I hope this doesn't cloud things up.

Yes the Wilbers rear shocks Sparty mentioned are unbelieveably cool looking but particularly with the current $ to Euro very pricey.  They have a non resevoir model with adjustable rebound (similar to to the Hyperpro shocks on the Million CB Mike??) About $850 and the "Ecoline" for $600ish.  For fork springs, Progressive Suspsension has a pretty good rep and would probably be just a matter of looking up the part number and ordering them.  Here's Pic of a resevior shock one model down from Sparty's Cadilac shocks

Anyone know anything about YSS shocks.  They seem to be an Australian/Thai company and to have some affilation with Wilbers.  Products look similar to Wilbers but a good bit less expensive.  About $6-700 US for the resevoir  model $4-500 US for the Non.  Both Have rebound adjustments.  Anyone??

so far they look like they would swap on to a SOHC (I have a 76 F with 900F shocks on it anyway) and the price was unbelievable $242 shipped to my door. I got the gold anodized ones. The only real complaint is that they are 14" eye to clevis which makes them a full inch taller than stock SOHC

I have a complaint with that statement...  I expect a company that gives you their contact information as an email address to be pretty familiar with the use of email.  I also like face to face business, but in reality, business is moving too fast these days.  Plus, it is much less expensive using email.  I own a small business and I know how important customer relations are to your bottom line.  I don't advertise, never have, my business is 100% word of mouth/referrals, and I have more business than I can handle because I am good to my customers and get back to them in a very timely manner.

Wow.  Those look pretty nice.  How adjustable are they?  Preload and compression/rebound?  Do you get to specify your spring rate?

Do you have a photo of these shocks on your bike? Im looking for 14` shocks for precisely the reason you mention - stiffer on the back end and taller. Will go on my cafe K2.

The lentgh of the model shown is 15 inches eye to eye and there is a preload adjustment. We are currently utilizing 2 different spring rates. we have several test bed bikes. One is a 76 cb750 vintage racebike the others include 2 1983 cb1100fs and an 81 cb750 F. They are engineeered in North America (USA and Canada). All testing and metallurgy was done here(N.A.) We offer a 24 month replacement warranty and they are rebuildable.

What else would you like to know?....I am all ears.

I am interested in a set for my cafe, but I am afraid fifteen inches may be a bit tall. Is there much adjustment as far as ride height or is there a shorter model?
