stock rear disc question, rotors the same pattern?
« on: November 26, 2020, 04:25:41 PM »
would a rear disc rotor from a later comstar fit the 75/76 F spoked hub that accepted a rear disc?

I looked up bike diagrams and it looks like there might be an offset behind the comstar disk.

First F models with wire wheels have huge hole in center , not sure if they are 6 bolt. I know co-star front are 5 bolt, not sure about rear..

I am about 55 percent sure (that's not very sure lol) that spoked wheel f rear disc and comstar rear disc are interchangeable
If it works good, it looks good...

The ' 7 and 78 F has thin discs up front, mog sure how thick the rear is .i know rear caliper is same as one side of the front far as I know.
The rear 75 and 76 F rotor is thick like K model fronts, iirc..

Im only concerned with the rear, I can get my hands  on comstar rear wheel, Ill steal the rotor, caliper and other hardware...I sourced a 75-76 spoke hub on eBay for 130 bucks...I could piece together a rear disc set up for under 200 if thats the case.

looks like they are the same rotor based on the pictures I found.
Im gonna start hunting down parts. I think with my extended swing arm the rotor wont look SO chunky back there like it usually does. Im only going to do it if I can keep it all under $200 for parts. Ill check back in when ive made some progress.
