Hey everyone,
I have been navigating these forums for some time without a proper introduction and figured it's about time.
I'm originally from Spain, but moved to the US (L.A.) about 6 years ago, where I've found my home. I started riding at the early age of 6, with a tiny little dirt bike. Today I ride old Hondas and old Choppers.
My first bike in L.A. was a cafed-out 1972 CB750, which I loved. Unfortunately I got into a very nasty accident where I broke both of my legs and one arm, with a total of 11 bone fractures and 4 surgeries. You can imagine how the bike ended... Once I learned how to walk again I got back on the road, this time on a '74 Shovelhead. I missed that Honda for a long time and at the beginning of 2020, I decided to get a CB750 again.
Quarantine has been a blessing in disguise. With so much free time on my hands I decided to put all my energy into building my own dream bike. It was quite an amazing experience. A lot of things I didn't know how to do and had to learn on the fly... All the metal fabrication, welding, seat fabrication, upholstery, hand stitching the custom grips/kick, etc.
Anyway, here's the transformation:

I wanted to keep some of the original parts, to preserve the soul of the bike while giving it a more updated and clean look. For example I chose to keep the hand controls but stripped the paint and polished them. I did retrofit an early K oil tank, I've never been a fan of the super sport ones. A lot of work went into this bike as you can see. Most recently I've upgraded the carbs and air filters.
After finishing this project, 2 people approached me to build them a bike, so now I'm deep into 2 projects and a 3rd one waiting. Not sure where this road will take me but for now I'll enjoy the ride.
I still have a lot to learn, but I'm very grateful for this forum and I hope one day I can offer the same help I've received.
