Gas tank rust removal
« on: December 01, 2020, 02:51:03 PM »
I don't post here as much as I used to. I just had to say my 1972 CB750 gas tank had some rust that came up over the years. I bought 2 gallons of evaporust on ebay. I let it soak in different positions for 3 days. I dumped it out and flushed maybe 10 times with water. I then swished around a bottle of rubbing alcohol. I then flushed the tank with about a gallon of 2-cycle gas with oil. Dumped this out and sprayed the tank with fogging oil. I have ZERO flash rust. 100% of the rust is gone. I will flush the tank with fresh gas in the Spring.  I am really impressed. Thanks for reading. Dan

You can use this with the petcock installed. I suggest taking the petcock off when you are done and cleaning out. There was so much crap this got out of my tank that some went into the petcock. Very easy to do. Dan
