Check forks for straighteness at this time .
Just hold one agaist the other, lower legs facing out. Turn the  first one 90 degrees 3 times...hold them together... look  for any gaps......  then you can check 2nd tube against the first.

I decided this morning it was time to get my garage back and get the project off of blocks and free from being wall tied.  Houston, we have a front end. Everything went back up fairly easily.   Back wheel will be next.  I really like the new handlebars, cheap Emgo brand but look close to stock.

I really don't know presently.  The ugly arse two hump seat is in good condition and will do in a pinch depending on a couple of factors, budget and will I be keeping the bike.  4 into 1 carries a new repo seat with minor imperfections but with good reviews for 200 bucks, so that could be an option.  I really don't want to get too far upside down in the process, but dammit, there is a Charlies Place electronic ignition that has peeked my interest if I keep "Old Blue".  I have used his systems in a number of vintage twins and he puts out a great product.  When you get a chance shoot me a PM with what you have with your price to include shipping to Virginia and we will see.  Thank You....

We have clear on the tins, two good coats of 2K.  The patina (which is really rust, dings, touch ups and scratches) shows through nicely.  We have a headlight, clocks, and front turns after getting the spaghetti ball of wires back through the bucket hole, and damned if everything doesn't still work to include that annoying turn signal beeper.  Looking at the front brake lines caused another order to 4 into 1 since they are pretty well shot and Steve I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered a new repo seat so I am out of the market for buying yours.  I have also totaled receipts and I am done, no more mad money to blow so the it will be finished with what is in the new parts box and anything else I can find in my parts cache......

Almost the exact same color as the bottle of windshield washer fluid in the background.  Honestly, I have no idea.  The PO had it painted this color sometime in the late 70's since he did not like the OEM Honda green which I have to agree with....

Coils back on and wiring harness cleaned up somewhat with the plastic coating that turns into petrified wood removed and replaced with good 33 tape.  I have fire to all four, so next week I tackle the rear and will hopefully meet in the middle sometime in the near future.....

Looks close.  I lost a helmet a few years back thanks to birds, sparrows not robins, but I still hold somewhat of a grudge.  In the summer I usually leave the garage windows open and this is what I discovered before it was too late to intervein.  Of course I let nature run its course and the chicks hatched, but the helmet was write off.

It's coming along great.

In 2002 Triumph offered the Bonneville in that color. A friend had one he bought new then gave to his wife for her to ride when he bought a new 2005. It wasn't a bad color, unlike purple or green bikes(in the 70s there was always the question of "what color is your bike", if it was always breaking down on you, purple or green were the colors to stay away from. Bad karma colors)...... Triumph called it Sky Blue.

You can be moving along at warp speed, then life throws a bucket of fecal matter into project in the name of a rear wheel bearing retainer ring.  I have fought an number hard to remove nuts, bolts, and brackets through the years but this SOB has to be in the top two.  Yes I tried every approach out there, and of course I don't have the Honda tool.  The holes were tapped for 6mm bolts and with a pry bar wedged between them, they torn out of the threads.  I made a tool with bolts spaced to fit the holes, and again no movement. Of course heat was also added with WD40, no luck.  The only movement was obtained with a hammer and punch and when it came out it not so pretty any more.  I have a replacement on order and have plenty to do in the meantime.  I have to pick the best wheel of two I have for new bearings and will probably go with the one I don't have to add spokes too and true.  Now back to the garage and pick up nearly every tool in my possession that was brought into use during this fiasco. 

Also would any of you more advanced in technology be able to tell me why I can't post to this thread if I use photos taken with my new smart phone.  When I hit the post button the posting just disappears.  If I use photos taken with the old digital camera there is no problem.  I told the Wife it was not a good idea to give me a phone smarter than I am.  I really miss the old "Flipper".....

My guess would be your new phone pictures are too big - as the file size si too big.    Try to resize them.

And try uploading with a WiFi connection, there could be a setting blocking file uploads on your data connection.

 Re-drilling the stake marks is the best thing I did on my stuck retainer. I fought it a full turn then stopped and re-drilled the stake marks bigger and deeper. A little oil and it spun right out.
 I've seen new retainers for sale, not sure where, maybe cb750.com?

I should have added, I did drill out the factory punch marks before starting.  If there ever is a next one, maybe I should go a little deeper.  I look at this setbacks as a life lesson, makes you really appreciate it when something falls right into place.  When the new wheel bearings arrive I sure hope that is true.  Going to use the hot hub-cold bearing method and figure the Garage Gods owe me a good turn now....

It is the same for me too. I've asked the same question and gotten the same answer, that the file size of one or more pictures were too big and we need to resize our pictures, (as if we are to know how to do it)
Apparently, the way this forum has been set up by whoever set the parameters to, when one or more pictures are too big a file size, instead of it telling us right as we try to add that certain picture that is too big and stopping us from going further adding more pictures or writing out more, but no, it will just dump everything we have written out as well as all the pictures we have tried to add to it in the trash bin, which is Totally bogus.
Someone needs to fix this problem that is in charge of the forum.
