CB350F then and now...
« on: December 04, 2020, 04:37:31 AM »
My missus was sorting through some old photos.  This is how my CB350F looked in 1991:

and how it looks now:

It has actually improved with age, unlike its owner...

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Nice!
Mine is green as in your second photo. An when I bought it used, it had the same exhaust as yours. What brand is that exhaust, MAC or Delkevik?

It's actually an Aussie "Tranzac" exhaust, with an el-cheapo Chinese muffler attached.  I'll take a photo of the right hand side tomorrow & post it.

If you ever want to sell it.....

As a guy I know once said about me, I'm not a collector, I just don't sell the bikes I own!

This is the bike that taught me a lot about motorcycle maintenance.  It dropped a valve after a few years ownership, and I couldn't afford to pay a mechanic to fix it.  I did learn that Honda changed the valve keeper/collet design at some point.  The early ones have an issue with the band that fits inside the valve groove.  It is too narrow, and allows a bit of up-and-down movement, which eventually wears the band away, resulting in a dropped valve.  I almost had two more dropped valves until I noticed the difference in the collets...
