Carb Jet info- 550 four with Mikuni CV36
« on: December 12, 2020, 08:33:30 AM »
Hi all,
I just picked up an 82 Suzuki GS550L(550 4cyl) and it needs some help to get started I think since it's cold, but then immediately dies. I took the carbs off to clean them and didn't find any blockages and they were already very clean. I'm not entirely sure why the bike wont stay running, seems to not be pulling fuel in?

What I really need help with right now is the jet size. They aren't the stock carbs and have much larger jets(92.5 main, 50 pilot) than listed stock with the VM22S(80 main, 15 pilot). I live at 5000ft with stock exhaust though I will be switching that out. Anybody running those carbs on a 550ish 4cyl? What jets? Any ideas why it would be starting and dying immediately would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
