Hi everyone :)

First post, newbie in the motorcycle world here.

Looking for help finding the right 4-1 Merge Collector to connect the Headers to a Shorty Muffles I'm about to import from the USA.
The problem is I'm not finding the right specs for these parts, so it's hard to find the right Merge Collector to buy.

I'm looking to have something decent, well finished, that would not look like it was improvised.
So a good/affordable Merge Collector makes the difference in the bike aesthetics.

The specs I have gathered below are surely correct for the Shorty Muffler, but I'm still unsure about the right Header pipe specs for the Honda 500 Four:

Honda 500 Four Header Pipes:

- 1.250" outside diameter = 32mm (Found this in another forum, not sure if it's correct)

Muffle “Shorty”:

- Total Length: 17.5"
- Inlet OD: 1-3/4" (44mm)
- Outlet OD: 1-5/6" (46.5mm)

4 -1 Merge Collector:

???????????

Every little helps, guys. If you know the exact models online, please point me some. OR at least the right dimensions/specs I should look for.

I was thinking to import the Delkevic Headers too, but the Honda 500 Four I'm buying already has the Headers, so it's money I don't need to spend if I find a good/affordable Merge Collector.

Thanks!
Flavio

If you geta merge collector, what pipes will you use. You can use stock headpopes for 2 into 1..
But good luck  trying to fit 4 into 1.

Thanks everyone for your help :D

As you can guess, I'm new to all this.
I'm aware that a specialist should adapt a 4-1 and make a custom Merge collector, ideally.

But in my reality, if I pay someone to do this in Brazil, I will pay a prime, more than a delkevic set to get only a merge collector so you have an idea.

So the best for me is to import from USA.

I have NO idea of the header pipe size on an original Honda 500 Four.

If any of you know the specs I should look for a merge collecotr to buy one or hacve someone custome one for me in USa, so I could import with the other stuff, that would be great.

Then when I receive it in Brazil, I can have a mechanic to solder the parts together, including that Shorty muffler.

I guess it's my best bet.

Any help on the ideal specs for this Merge COllector, it would help me looooads.

Thanks!

If you have head stock pipes they won't merge into a collector. I think you mean you have an existing header and prefer a merge collector over the collector that came on them.  We can't really know an answer because the pipes may be whatever size the header builder wanted to use.

Hey Don

Yes... And thanks for that.
Alright, just learned a new thing. You can fit different mm headers. Alright.

So, and I must ask, what would be the best solution in this case, that I'd like to import all parts from USA to merge into an exhaust system here in Brazil, using that Shorty Muffler... Then having the merge collector with what specs, should be the best bet to look out for?

Also, for the headers sizes. Those I can get hold of new ones around here, and should be even better, possibly they should be a it bigger mm sizes, right?

Thanks, guys. Really appreciate the time helping me out somehow, I'm still digging totally naked into this world :P
But loving it already.

Merry Xmas, btw.
