Hi All!

I got myself a 1980 CB650, did a lot of work on it already, found it was low on compression so I did the head an rings.
Found the valves and seats were not great and getting any work do to get new valves and seats where I am would be at a criminal cost so I bought another head from eBay, is in good condition, everything seals nicely so I threw it on with a new gasket kit.
Unfortunately I didn't check the carb alignment, it was supposed to be a 79 head and I didn't realize CV came in for 82, I guess that's the one I got.
I'm not going to buy another head so I've been searching the forums and I want to confirm that good offset isolators from the GPZ 600 will fit the mechanical 1980 carbs to the 82 head or is there a better series of isolators that work?
I like the aggression of mechanical carbs and have no desire to change it, I've already tuned them for pods, probably have to adjust slightly again for improved compression but she's almost ready to go.  :(
The posts I found had been from a while ago so if there has been any evolution to what isolators can be used I'd like to find out.
Cheers.

To answer my own question, yes the offset GPZ 600 carb rubbers will fit the 1980 mechanical carbs to a 1982 head.
They fit perfectly on the head and are a little loose on the carbs, which may help extend the offset a bit.
They still seal well.
I haven't run a smoke test but the bike runs pretty good so the seal seems to be ok.

I think the rest of us learned something. I'm sure there are lots of swaps like this, there should be a database. Thanks.
