I am trying to locate some nice looking bolts to hold the rear sprocket to the carrier and am having a real difficult time. They are m12 1.25. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Your bike looks great!

Check if these guys can provide the bolts you need. That's what the do:

Thank you for the link Jim. They actually do have m12 x 1.25 bolts but they only have them in titanium and those are about $30 a piece!! :o

Thanks David. I found some that will work. I really wanted something like ARP 12 point but they don't seem to make anything like that.

Jim...I'd love to add a little bling with those golden ti bolts but goodness that's pricey.

Friday night I was able to get the chain installed and the back of the bike together.

I spent time Saturday morning reinstalling the rearsets, linkages, exhaust, and some other small stuff. On Friday night the axle nut felt bad when I tightened it down. I needed to adjust the chain on Saturday and the nut stripped and wouldn't tighten or loosen. So I had to grind the nut off. Luckily, I had another axle and nut and it worked. I also loosened the left side spokes a touch on the rear wheel and tightened the right side a hair to pull the rim/tire to the right slightly.

Not thrilled with the muffler support and may do something else down the road. Took it for an easy 45 minute ride today and everything seems great. The rearsets are very comfortable and go nicely with the 400 bars. I still need to mount the fender to the Tarozzi brace and am wavering on how to go about it. This conversion was much more challenging and stressful than I thought it was going to be. I'm thrilled with how things look. Thank you everyone for the help!

The project might have been much more challenging and stressful than you anticipated, But you have gained more knowledge & experience then you could ever have gotten from any classroom, and I suspect it has also come with a great deal of satisfaction with the conquering of each challenge.

 Side note:
There is one down side of all that work; Only those who have put forth similar effort & dedication, will even come close to actually appreciating what it took to achieve.   ;)   Yet likewise; you now have greater discernment when viewing such work of others.

I realized I never updated this with how the fender turned out. Because I've been so busy with work and some other crap, I decided to drop Squirrel off at a friend's metal fab business while I went to 6th grade camp for two weeks. He took care of the fender and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. He also surprised me with this strap to secure the muffler that looks so much nicer than the spring did.

Wanted to post a minor update to Squirrel. I'm always looking to learn new things and I've always been intrigued with old school sign painting and gold leaf work. My side covers needed new paint anyways so I figured why not try something on them. True artists do everything freehand so I did cheat a little and had stencils made of the numbers I wanted to run. I used the stencils as a guide for brushing on the size (adhesive).

Funny story related to the particular number I chose. I get a call from an upset parent about his child being given 2 lunch detentions from his math teacher. On a recent quiz, as part of the beginning instructions, it says, "Write any number next your name." Child writes the number 69 and teacher is, "highly insulted." Parent argues that his child (7th grade boy) doesn't know that 69 has anything to do with regard to a sexual reference. Normally, I would direct the parent back to the teacher but I knew I could extinguish things quickly so I tell him I'll have a conversation with the teacher. I do and offer some suggestions such as steering things in the direction you want them to go (write a number between 1 and 30, write a number that contains the following provided digits, etc.). Then at a team meeting a few days later we're talking about our weekends and I share a picture of my work on the side covers and we all had a good laugh.

Obviously, my choice for the number had more to do with a nod to Nicky Hayden than a sexual innuendo that middle school students find to be funny and new teachers find offensive. The leaf work was easier than I thought it was going to be and now all I see are signs on trucks and the like that should be done in this fashion. The outlining was extremely difficult. I still need to clear the covers. This kind of stuff really is a lost art and that's sad.
