Progress has been slow but I need to offset the rear sprocket so that the chain clears the tire and to address chain line issues. The studs aren't long enough to allow for this and I knew that I would probably have to pull the studs but I put it off for months now. Yesterday they finally came out but it was not an easy task by any means.

Rear brake line also showed up and I got it installed.

And yesterday, the front rim and spokes finally showed up.

Been a busy last week and a half as we entertained some out of town guests in two shifts. Some parts did arrive but they just piled up in the garage while we spent the days searching for trout. Here's a few fishy pics.

Lovely little stick of butter with spots on it. Seeing a lot more browns in one section of river that I seem to frequent a lot this year and that's A OK by me as they are my favorite.

I don't wanna marry a Bow but I like them too.

81 by Chris Neumann, on Flickr

My favorite part.

78 by Chris Neumann, on Flickr

One of the more colored up Bows I've seen in a bit.

80 by Chris Neumann, on Flickr

Always good to be on the water and even the guys who had never touched a fly rod were able to fool fish on some very challenging water.

79 by Chris Neumann, on Flickr

Got to spend two days with this character. He's my Uncle Gene and, at 86, he's still got a lot of piss and vinegar in him. He's a bait fisherman but I don't hold it against him. There was a time when he would work the moving water but now he sticks to the still. I threw a few dry flies but mostly helped him drink Budweiser and talk about old cars and young women. He was the only one I saw who was catching anything. He's one of my heroes and the only family that I have (outside my wife and dog).

82 by Chris Neumann, on Flickr

Alright, here's a motorcycle picture to mix it up. I was able to get the front wheel laced up. Jeff's updated speedometer delete piece is lovely and I'll get a pic of that up for everyone to see. I dropped the wheel and tire off this morning and hope to have it back in a day or two. Also got the rear brake system bled today and the garage cleaned up.

Glad you got some time in with your Uncle Gene.  FYI - it looks like you hooked a couple of flies on you trucker hat, but maybe that's all part of the hipster look you were going for.   ;D

Oh Don. You do enjoy inserting anecdotal comments but it’s got nothing to do with trying to be hip and more to do with simply making sure that I always have those two flies whenever the opportunity presents itself. I’d try to explain but I know the mere thought of fish slime getting on your dainty hands probably repulses you.

Axle clamps are on backwards from the look of it.  ??? Gap orients to the rear. If you remove one, there should be a cast "dimple" indicating the front facing orientation.

Well Squirrel continues to be her usual temperamental self but I wouldn't expect anything less. I picked up the front wheel from having the tire mounted yesterday but it would not go on. The tire was hitting the brake caliper. I pulled that and then it hits the fender bracket. I took the bracket off the fender so I could see everything better and started trimming it a bit. I relocated the mounting holes a little higher up but the bracket will not clear once its mounted on top of the caliper. Can't put the bracket under the caliper either as then the caliper hits the rim. Here's how I left things today to get some lunch. This is the left side.

Caliper side.

85 by Chris Neumann, on Flickr

Not sure what I'm going to do just yet but I have some options. I could order a Tarozzi brace and temporarily put that on and run no front fender. Sure like to have at least a shorty fender on though.

I could find another fender bracket and reinstall the 19" wheel and run the fender and braces exactly as I had them. Right now this is probably what I'll do in the mean time after finding a bracket (mine is too short to work on the 19 now).

Cal had a good idea of cutting the bracket down the middle and widening it a bit so that the legs are completely vertical.

Think those are my options right now although I'd like to see pics of the Motolana fender bracket as that may be an option as well but they're out of stock at the moment.

The offset sprocket is supposed to arrive today. Once it shows I'll be able to install it and see if the sprockets will be inline and whether or not the chain clearance is acceptable. If it is then I can put the majority of the bike back together and get everything tightened down.

Good heavens... That's a brilliant idea!!!
I wish I'd thought of that.   ;)

I'll be giving all props to you Sir if I can pull this off. But I might also open up a side hustle where I'll make these and claim the fame. If they look half as good as yours do I'll be right as rain. And I'll steal part of your business name but put a fish spin on it and go with Codffery's.

Got the brace installed late last night and laid the fender on the tire. I have some fuel line between tire and fender now and it gives 12mm clearance. I will be chopping the fender a bit. Real happy with how things look right now. Definitely more than one way to get the fender attached to the brace but I'm getting most of my inspiration from that Godffery character at the moment.

Been pushing real hard to get as much finished on the house but every bit closer I get, she orders more stuff or adds to the list.  ::) We have four sets of these ugly folding doors and this was my solution for making the look less fugly.

I used a Tarrozi fork brace and mounted the fender to the bottom of the brace.

Kelly do you have any more pics of how you skinned this feral cat?

I do but they are too big to post here. I made two 2" X 3/4" x1/16" metal strips with a hole in each end to hold the fender to the brace. I drilled and tapped holes in the angled face on each side of the brace and attached the fender with stainless button head screws. It takes a little finagling to get the holes located on the brace and an extra set of hands helped a lot.
