As I mentioned in my other thread I'm all fixed up. New battery did the trick! I'll hold onto these new plugs for next time. Thanks for all the help. Does a good battery help with starting? Strangely it has started tonight flawlessly several times out riding around whereas with my old battery earlier in my garage even when I'd freshly charged it it wasn't starting most of the time. Maybe after sitting it just needed to run for a bit to loosen some crud out or something?

If you haven't changed the plugs ever, change them.

If I don't experience any obvious problems what difference do you think it will make? I did connect one of the new ones to one of the wires to check the spark for comparison and I didn't see a difference. The book says you should see a big blue spark. Both old and new produce a little blue one I'd say. Why not wait til I get "old spark plug symptoms" whatever they'd be?

Spark plugs are cheap. Why wait for problems? Change mine at least once a year. They don't last forever.

I guess I'm a "don't fix it if it ain't broke" kinda guy and they seem pretty good, as good as a new one as far as I can tell. I'm cheap, frugal.

I just know it's working great now. And I think it was me even that thought about changing them. Half of you suggested dead battery, and I replaced it and it works. Some of you guys get a Lil touchy. But all in all you all help me out a lot. Just dont expect me to follow each and every suggestion especially since you are not all in sync anyway. But I really do appreciate all your feedback and will humbly let you know when I mess up not following a particular suggestion

Thanks.

There have been a number of relatively new members this year who've solicited advice for one problem or another. Much of the sound advice that was given was met with reasons why-not.... so yes, Lil touchy.

Please correct your wording so we can read your intended meaning. Then I'll remove this reply.
Thanks.

OH! Yes lol. My first bike I had it cranking seemingly strong, but it was a pain to start, and jumping it to my car made it start great. It might have to do with voltage drop while cranking causing weak spark. Sometimes counterintuitive.

Thanks for confirming. I thought I'd read something about this before. Maybe not. Last year I was riding it a lot and had this weak starting issue and carried around carb cleaner. I'm thinking now it was a weak battery. If this new Walmart one, same one as the "core" gives me similar issues I'll go with weak battery and get a good one. Spend a bit more
