1978 CB550K Pilot light / instrument cluster question
« on: December 22, 2020, 03:52:20 PM »
Hello
I'm new here and just decided to try to bring back to life my 1978 CB550K. The bike has a little over 7K miles on it and it's been neglected since 1983. The bike has been in my family since new and has been moved from one garage to another several times. I'm missing a few parts such as right side mirror, battery cover, battery strap and the pilot light cover.

The question is on whether or not a pilot light from a different generation will fit the bike. I know the original light is similar/same as the CB750 but i was looking more at the previous generations that were mounted on top of the handle bars. Will those lights fit over the handle bars?

any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

I think the 1977 and 1978 cb550K and cb750K use the same “T” shaped binnacle style. It also has a circular portion that surrounds the key switch. I probably have a few if you need one? Send me a PM.
