Mounting steering damper to CB750K frame with Vetter Fairing
« on: December 24, 2020, 04:17:11 AM »
Trying to mount a NHK 500 damper. My CB750K1 has a Windjammer III fairing and a A&H loop type crash bar. Needless to say I have a very crowded frame. This leaves little space for a damper clamp. I don't see a way to do it when mounting the damper to the upper triple tree.
I am more than willing to lose the crash bar but I love my Vetter. The Vetter bracket seems to be the biggest obstacle.
Has anybody mounted a steering damper with a Vetter fairing?
Thanks!

You could mount to the crashbar instead of frame tube or make a bracket from bar mounting

Have you asked on the Vetter forum?
http://www.vetterowners.com
There may be a voice of experience there to help, but I think BryanJ has it.

Cheers. It's a slower moving forum with a fair range of age groups, but a very cool slice of riding in the old/current days.  I hope it's slow due to everyone being out riding, but in truth bikes are probably sitting in garages with lost titles and members who don't ride anymore. 588 members (just looked it up)

I just joined the Windjammer forum, the blue gl1000 is the same as mine, less the trunk which lives on a shelf and stores Goldwing/Vetter spares.
