But my volt meter does. Any idea why this is? I have the relay setup for my volt meter so it won't be constantly on, just when the ignition switch is on. And I wanted my grip warmers directly connected just because of the wiring setup I have. But it's not necessary but I'm just wondering why this would be so. These warmers as any peripheral device would be designed to work directly connected to the battery right? I get battery voltage through either circuit so I don't know what could be the difference

I'm assuming, based on your forum signature, that this is happening on the same bike as the "What's the most common cause of a weak starter?" http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,185320.0 thread? :o

There could be several causes of your grip warmer issue but we would have to know more about the wiring that you have done and the warmers you are using (ex. "The Titan heated grip also features Koso's "Low voltage warning" that will automatically turn off the heated grips in case the voltage goes under 12 V").

Do a Google search for "heated grips directly to battery" and you will find that even with grips that are supposed shut off automatically many riders end up with dead batteries and charging issues. The outcome will depend on the source of your positive voltage (keyed or not). Relay installation is normally recommended.

Thanks. Come to think of it, I probably got the relay for them. Either way they have an off switch which was why I wasn't concerned how they hooked up.
